Echoes of Dreams and Digital Dystopias
A Continued Journey for a One-Eyed Painter
Nothing Left To See
In all my pieces I try to bridge the tradition of oil painting with ethereal digitally inspired dreams. I want them to feel both ancient and futuristic. With a classical background and approach, my goal is to capture texture and depth, while allowing the surreal influences of a world that has only ever existed in another life shine through my use of light.
My compositions attempt to reflect a quiet reverence for the natural world, yet hum with a subtle undercurrent of otherworlds—an homage to both the organic and the unknown. Understanding this delicate balance happens before I evern put brush to canvas. Working many hours developing a sketch that reflects a reality both familiar and one just beyond reach.

Crossing the Borders of Reality
The Muti series captures and transforms the ancient South African tradition of herbal healing into engaging still lifes, where earthy tones and vibrant brushstrokes conjure the mystical essence of roots, leaves, feathers, concoctions, potions, skulls, and whispered rituals, blending the sacred and the unseen into visual poetry.
This collection features earlier works, live paintings, sketches, and studies that highlight my artistic roots and evolving relationship with different materials. Each piece offers a glimpse into my creative journey, showcasing the experimentation, exploration, and foundational techniques that shaped my approach to pencil and paint.
About Christopher
Drinking Frog Pond Water and Putting Out Fires.
Enduring a hallucinogenic fever that lasted a week, we watched a road wash away, leaving us stranded as the flood water poured into our cottage and around our bed. With no means to bottled drinking water or reliable and constant electricity, we shooed away frogs from a tub collecting rain water to help keep our fevers at bay. A month later we were frantically trying to stop a wildfire from engulfing the same cottage. I call it character-building 101.
"Some worlds emerge slowly after the tenth to twentieth layer of paint. While other worlds are an instant spark that appear within the first brushstroke. The trick is knowing when to stop before both worlds collide into a complete and utter mess."

- I've always wanted to make movies, and I've always loved the art of puppetry. During the madness of 2020, I decided to blend the two pastimes and make my very first film short titled "The Wildfolk Movie". Watch the full moive by clicking the link below.
